Local Energy news: New season, new staff, new office!

posted in: Uncategorized | 0

Autumn is upon us, and with the change of season Local Energy is pleased to announce that we have grown.

We moved into our new office in Manchester on 1st September. Peter Chasmer, who has recently been promoted to Head of Green Deal Development, will be based at 53 Portland Street, Manchester M1 3LD (known as ‘Manchester One’) alongside our newest member of staff, Yaw Yeboah, Customer Service Administrator.

We are also pleased to welcome Stewart Manegold, who is our new Energy Efficiency Project Manager working in the Solent area.

This expansion is the result of all our hard work over the last two years in preparing for the Green Deal, becoming an approved Green Deal Provider and accessing both ECO and Green Deal Finance Company funding. Those of you who read our ‘Diary of a Green Deal Provider’ will know that it wasn’t always easy!

Over the last 12 months, we have delivered more than £30 million of savings to consumers’ bills (through HHCRO funding) and more than 20,000 tonnes of carbon savings (through CERO and CSCO funding). We have worked with installers from Newcastle to Portsmouth (and points in between), and with four of the ‘Big 6’ energy suppliers.

We are continuing to work with Portsmouth City Council on the Solent Green Deal, and we’re also working with local authorities in the wider area to help deliver their Green Deal Communities projects.

Alongside all of the Green Deal and ECO work, we will continue to run the Local Energy Efficiency Network (LEEN). Topics for the network will include the CRC, ECO and Green Deal, renewables subsidies (FiTs, RHI) and decentralised energy (including community energy); however, if there’s something you’d like us to include, please get in touch with your suggestions.

The next events are scheduled for 4th, 5th and 6th November and are likely to be in London, Manchester and Scotland or the North East, subject to demand. Please make a note of the dates in your diary and, if you have not yet joined the network, complete the online registration form. More event details will be available soon.

In the meantime, we’d love to hear from you if you have a question or project that you’d like to discuss. Please note that our London office (at 251 Pentonville Road) is unchanged, and you can call us there on 020 7554 2800.
