Local Energy’s Carbon Reduction Compliance Service
Carbonscape is a service developed by Local Energy for all organisations that are required to comply with the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) Energy Efficiency Scheme.
We offer this tailored service to any organisation that is looking for more comprehensive CRC support; and we will work with you to build an individual package that meets your requirements.
Designed to be a flexible service, we can support you in specific areas of your CRC requirements or we can provide a comprehensive service.
Carbonscape is designed to:
- Carry out the repetitive administration and data collection tasks.
- Manage your data; reports will be submitted on time, and your evidence pack will be complete.
- Help you avoid costly mistakes; we understand the complex requirements of the CRC and will help you minimise your financial liability and compliance costs.
- Protect your reputation; by ensuring full compliance you will avoid unnecessary financial penalties and ‘naming and shaming’.
- Contribute to strategy by helping you to move beyond simple CRC compliance, to reduce costs by cutting your emissions, improve your league table performance and integrate your CRC and wider energy and climate change strategies.
In essence, Carbonscape ensures full CRC compliance, saves you money, and frees up your time.
Depending on your individual requirements you can subscribe to a combination of the following services:
Technical set-up
We will spend 2-3 days setting up the software system and ensuring that all your energy data can be quickly and easily captured. This is done using a combination of direct data uploads (from your existing EMS software, financial accounting software or by direct feed from AMR meters), standard templates completed by you, and manual data entry completed by us from bills or invoices in the event that electronic data sources cannot be provided.
Compliance set-up
We will spend 1-2 days collecting all of the relevant information for CRC registration and reporting, including qualification data, organisation structure, senior officer, primary and secondary contacts, meter details and all other information necessary to provide the service.
CRC registration and notification of changes
Although you will already have registered for the first introductory phase of the CRC, we will ensure that any significant changes are notified to the registry and will undertake registration on your behalf for future phases.
Energy data collection
We will collect transactional data on your CRC energy use. Your data will be collated and stored on your existing software or on carboncheck™ software, which will also allow you to generate flexible reports and charts, analyse consumption, track progress against targets and undertake scenario modelling, as well as exporting data back to your own software in a variety of formats.
Annual reports
We will produce and submit your annual report (all compliance years) to the CRC registry on your behalf. Reports will be generated in advance of the reporting deadline and supplied to you for sign-off prior to submission.
Evidence pack
We will collate and maintain all relevant material for your CRC evidence pack, which will be stored electronically and may be accessed by you at any time.
CRC ‘internal’ audit
We will carry out an ‘internal’ audit to evaluate your CRC reporting, identify any process improvements and minimise risks to your organisation arising from the CRC.
Carbon cost reduction
The CRC scheme requires participants to buy one allowance for each tonne of carbon dioxide emitted. We will help you to identify emissions that can be lawfully excluded from your annual report, minimising the cost of buying allowances each year.
